The Voice has shared an early release Blind Audition from Monday’s new episode of Season 25, featuring 16-year-old singer Serenity Arce. Serenity turned all four coaches’ chairs with her incredible performance of “This City” by Sam Fischer.

Serenity Arce Turns Four Chairs in The Voice Early Release

Chance the Rapper and John Legend were the first coaches to turn their chairs for Serenity’s audition. Legend even made sure to block Dan + Shay from getting Serenity on their team. The duo, along with Reba McEntire, turned their chairs just seconds later.

When she was done singing, the coaches gave Serenity a standing ovation for her performance. Legend remarked that she looked familiar, and Serenity revealed that she had previously auditioned for Season 21, when she was 14 years old.

“I’m so proud of you for coming back here,” Legend told her. “Because all of us have had people tell us no, and we had to come back and say, ‘No, we’re gonna try again.’ And that’s how we got to where we are. I’m so proud of you for doing that.”

What Did the Coaches Think of Serenity’s Audition?

Dan Smyers of Dan + Shay told Serenity that he “felt that performance deep down in my soul.” Chance the Rapper called it “a real dedication to giving a great performance.” He added that he was “excited to see the range of songs that you do.”

In her pitch to Serenity, McEntire told the young singer that she has a “wonderful voice,” adding that she would try to “steer you in a way to enhance the qualities that you already have” as her coach.

Legend told Serenity that her voice is “powerful and crisp” but also “distinct and cool.” Chance made sure to point out that Legend didn’t turn around for Serenity when she auditioned for the previous season.

We’ll have to wait until The Voice Season 25 returns Monday night on NBC to find out which team Serenity chose to join.
